The ‘Modern Literature’ review section aims at topics regarding developments of Chinese literature in the twentieth century, contemporary literature, film and media in the PRC, Taiwanese literature, as well as Sinophone literature from different parts of the world. By reviewing academic publications on these topics we seek to provide up to date information about recent research of modern Chinese literature both in the Chinese speaking world and in the western academia. Apart form the book reviews, brief notes or reviews of important translations will appear in this section. Contributions to the ‘Modern Literature’ section will cover the broad field of modern literature in the Chinese language and related areas dealing with various kinds of literary works, film and media production, translations etc., such as linguistic or social issues, cultural and popular culture studies and other.
